Cinnamon Roll Casserole takes canned cinnamon rolls to a whole new level. Every bite of this gooey, warm breakfast casserole tastes like the best part of a cinnamon roll – the center!

A glass baking dish filled with golden-brown cinnamon roll casserole topped with white icing.

This Cinnamon Roll Casserole is an easy shortcut to breakfast bliss. Pieces of store‑bought cinnamon roll dough are soaked in a creamy custard and then baked into a warm, sticky, gooey casserole. Drizzled with the sweet icing, the end result is absolutely drool-worthy!

It’s budget-friendly, kid-friendly, and perfect for mornings when you want something special but don’t feel like fussing. You can have it prepped and oven-ready in about 15 minutes. Or prep it the night before to make your holiday morning even easier.

⭐ Test Kitchen Approved ⭐

“This cinnamon roll breakfast casserole was perfect for a family weekend! It tasted great and I loved that it came together very quickly and used few ingredients. The recipe calls Grands cinnamon rolls, but I used the smaller ones and it worked out great still. I also used two, 8-inch square pans, so I could freeze an unbaked casserole for the following weekend. The whole house smelled amazing and we can’t wait to indulge again.” Shannon, skilled home cook for over 30 years.

Key Ingredient Notes

Find the full printable recipe with specific measurements below.

  • Canned Cinnamon Rolls: The 5-count Grands version will give you a fluffier, more bakery-style texture, while regular 8-count rolls will bake up a little denser.
  • Butter: You can replace the melted butter with nonstick cooking spray or coconut oil. You really just want something to help prevent the cinnamon roll casserole from sticking to the pan.
  • Whole Milk: Milk adds moisture and helps create a rich, custardy texture when mixed with the eggs. Whole milk or evaporated milk creates the best results, but 2% works in a pinch.
  • Eggs: Eggs bind everything together and create the custard texture that sets the casserole. They’re essential for holding it all together without it drying out!
  • Cinnamon: Don’t skip it! Even though the rolls are already spiced, the extra cinnamon makes a big difference.
A plate piled with a serving of gooey cinnamon roll casserole drizzled with white icing.

How To Make Cinnamon Roll Casserole

Visit the printable recipe card below for full directions.

Use melted butter to prevent sticking. You can use non-stick spray instead, but I prefer melted butter as it adds flavor.

Cut the cinnamon rolls into 1-inch small pieces. You can do this with a sharp knife or kitchen shears. The goal is to have them all roughly the same size so they fit well on a fork and also bake evenly.

Pour the custard evenly over the rolls. To avoid dry spots, pour slowly and evenly across the entire pan so every cinnamon roll piece gets coated.

Bake until golden and set. Check the center for doneness, it shouldn’t jiggle when gently shaken. If the top browns before the center is set, cover loosely with foil and continue baking.

Don’t forget to save the icing. Set the icing packets aside before baking. Then drizzle them over the warm casserole right after it comes out of the oven for the perfect finish.

Variations To Try

This Cinnamon Roll Casserole recipe is easy to customize! Add a handful of chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for a nice crunch, or toss in some raisins or dried cranberries for a more classic holiday vibe.

You can also mix in a can of apple pie filling or cherry pie filling for a fruity twist. If you’re craving something sweeter, adding a handful of chocolate chips is always a hit with the kids.

Feeling fancy? Swap the regular icing for a tangy cream cheese frosting. And if you love citrus, a little orange zest mixed into the custard or icing adds a bright, fresh flavor.

A close-up of a fork lifting a piece of gooey cinnamon roll breakfast casserole topped with icing.

How To Prep It Ahead of Time

The night before, cut up the cinnamon rolls and arrange them in the prepared baking dish. That way, the next morning, all you need to do is whisk together the egg mixture, pour, and bake.

Or, if you like it more custard-y, you can assemble the casserole completely the night before. Cover it tightly and refrigerate it overnight. When ready to bake, remove the casserole dish from the fridge and remove the covering. Let it sit on the counter for 20 minutes before baking to prevent the glass casserole dish from cracking in the oven. Then bake as directed.

Storing Leftovers

While best served fresh when it’s warm and gooey, the leftovers are still tasty! I like to pop a serving in the microwave and reheat it to enjoy as a sweet late night bite.

Once completely cooled, cover the casserole tightly with plastic wrap or place in an airtight container. Stored in the refrigerator, it should stay good for up to 3 to 4 days. To reheat, warm individual slices in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.

Crescent Roll Veggie Pizza is an easy-to-make appetizer or snack that’s colorful, crunchy, and always a hit! The flaky crescent roll base is topped with a tangy ranch cream cheese layer and a medley of fresh vegetables.

Two square pieces of fresh veggie pizza with crescent rolls stacked on a white plate.

Recipe Rundown: What To Know

  • Quick: Start to finish, this veggie pizza is ready in 30 minutes.
  • Great Texture: Soft crust, creamy filling and lots of crunchy veggies!
  • Simple To Make: All you need is a baking sheet, knife, and a mixing bowl.
  • Crowd-Pleaser: Loved by both kids and adults alike.
  • Easy Ingredients: Uses readily available, simple ingredients.
  • Make-Ahead Friendly: Best made in advance — perfect for a party!

I’m always amazed at how quickly these veggie pizza bars disappear. This timeless recipe brings back fond memories of 90’s potlucks and family reunions. Whether it’s a potluck, game day party, or even a Christmas gathering, this easy appetizer recipe is always the most popular! They are perfect for balancing heartier appetizers like my grape jelly meatballs or cheesy warm spinach puffs. For a larger gathering, consider making a double batch of this veggie pizza as it is truly addictive and always goes fast!

“Made these vegetable pizza bars for a family BBQ and even the kids loved them — which is saying something, since they usually run from anything green. I made them the day before and they had the perfect soft crust and the vegetables stayed crispy!” — Brittany, busy mom, chicken wrangler, and homesteader.

A flat lay of labeled ingredients for this veggie pizza recipe with crescent rolls arranged in bowls: chopped carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, ranch seasoning, and a roll of crescent dough on a white board.

Key Ingredient Notes

This is a super budget-friendly recipe — you won’t find anything listed here that’ll break the bank. Below are a few of the key ingredients with any notes or substitutions. Check the printable recipe card below for measurements!

  • Crescent Rolls: The seamless sheets or rolls both work just fine, but I find it a lot easier to use the sheets. If you use the rolls, make sure to press the seams together with your fingers before baking.
  • Cream Cheese: Give it time to soften to room temperature before using so it mixes together easily with the other ingredients. Regular or low-fat both work just fine, it depends on how creamy you want your filling to be.
  • Mayo and Sour Cream: I like to use a combination of the two for the perfect creamy and tangy flavor once combined with the cream cheese. However, if you prefer, you can use all sour cream or all mayo instead. Or you could even lighten them up by using plain greek yogurt.
  • Ranch Seasoning: Remember that we’re using the dry powdered ranch seasoning mix here, not the dressing!
  • Vegetables: I like to use a medley of fresh broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. Do NOT use frozen veggies that have been thawed — the texture will be all wrong!

Tips For Making Crescent Roll Veggie Pizza

After rinsing your veggies, make sure to pat them dry to prevent any excess moisture on the pizza as it can make it soggy. Important Tip: Make sure to allow the baked crust to cool completely before adding the cream cheese spread to prevent it from melting. If you need to speed this process up, feel free to pop the crust in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes.

Keep in mind that this veggie pizza will need to chill in the fridge for a few hours before serving. This helps the crust to become softer as it melds with the cream cheese mixture. It also makes it much easier to cleanly slice the bars as the cream cheese mixture will firm up once chilled. Below is a quick step-by-step recipe overview, please scroll down to the printable recipe card for full instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a flavored cream cheese?

Sure! I would stick with a savory cream cheese, like chive, jalapeño, dill, or garden vegetable. Adding the dry ranch seasoning at the end, to taste.

Can I use different vegetables?

Absolutely! Use any of your favorite fresh vegetables that you enjoy raw, like radishes, cucumbers, bell peppers, etc. Just ensure they are chopped into small, manageable pieces.

What’s the best way to cut veggie pizza into squares?

A large, sharp knife or a rolling pizza cutter works best. For cleaner edges, wipe the blade clean between cuts.

How far in advance can I prepare this veggie pizza?

I have prepared them up to 24 hours in advance and they have held up great! Just make sure you wrap them tightly and keep them chilled until serving time. I find they taste the freshest when sliced within a few hours of serving, so the crescent dough crust stays soft.

Can I add cheese?

Yes, I have seen them served this way at a few potlucks over the years! Just sprinkle on a little shredded cheddar cheese, or crumbled feta or goat cheese, on top with the veggies.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) can crescent rolls or crescent sheets
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup mayo
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 oz dry ranch seasoning mix or about 3 tablespoons
  • 2 cups chopped broccoli florets
  • 2 cups chopped cauliflower florets
  • 2 cups chopped carrots

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Spray a 13×9 pan with non-stick spray. Unroll crescent rolls and place dough in prepared pan and press it into shape. You might have to mess with it a little to get it to fit, but it will fit with a little pressing to the edges. If using regular crescent rolls, be sure to use your fingers to seal the perforated edges.
  • Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Set aside to cool for at least 10 minutes, until just slightly warm and no longer hot to the touch.
  • While crust is cooling, in large bowl with a hand mixer or spoon, beat the cream cheese until it is smooth and creamy. Add in the mayo, sour cream, and dry ranch seasoning mix, stirring until well combined.
  • Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust and top with the chopped veggies. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until ready to serve. When ready to serve, cut into squares with a sharp knife or a pizza cutter.

Notes

How to Store: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To keep the crust from getting soggy, you can place a paper towel underneath the slices to absorb any excess moisture. It’s best enjoyed cold, so no reheating is necessary.

Jessica's Notes

Magical Spinach Feta Puff Pastry Bites ✨

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an appetizer disappear quite as quickly as these spinach puffs…  Ok, well, maybe my grape jelly meatballs give them a run for their money. 😉

They’re oh-so-cheesy and creamy with just the right amount of garlic to keep you going back for more (and more). I often serve these for parties and recently served them as part of a brunch spread. They disappeared so quickly – I immediately regretted not making a double batch!

Looking for more easy spinach dishes? Try my hot spinach dip, steakhouse style creamed spinach recipe, or this cheesy spinach gratin!

Why These Spinach Puffs Steal the Show

  • So Easy: Combine the filling, stuff it into the puff pastry, and bake!
  • Irresistible: Each bite combines buttery, crisp puff pastry and a creamy spinach filling with a little fresh garlic and salty feta cheese for balance.
  • Simple Ingredients: Made with just 6 ingredients, they won’t break your grocery budget.
  • Party Ready: Perfect size to grab-and-go, they can also be prepped ahead and baked fresh as guests arrive!
The ingredients for spinach puffs recipe in order from top to bottom: cream cheese, eggs, frozen spinach, puff pastry, garlic, feta.

Key Ingredients

Your shopping list should be nice and short for this easy appetizer recipe. Scroll down to the recipe card below for the full ingredient list and exact amounts!

  • Spinach: Prepare the frozen chopped spinach according to the package instructions and be sure to squeeze out all the excess moisture. (Check the tips section below for how I easily do this!)
  • Puff Pastry: This will need to be thawed before you use it. You can thaw it overnight in the fridge if you remember in advance. Or if you’re like me and forget, just set it on the counter at room temperature for about 20 to 30 minutes. Crescent roll dough can be used instead, but I much prefer the texture you get from puff pastry.
  • Cream Cheese: It needs to be fully softened prior to mixing, set it on the counter 1 hour before starting.
  • Garlic: I like using fresh garlic whenever I can! Garlic powder or garlic paste will both also work in a pinch, but the flavor will be dulled.
  • Feta: This might just be my favorite ingredient, it adds the perfect amount of saltiness! You can even add a little extra if you like it super cheesy. If you swap this cheese for something like goat cheese, make sure to add a hearty pinch of salt!
A hand is holding a single spinach puff.

How to Make Spinach Puffs

I recommend using a hand mixer to easily and quickly combine the filling, but if your cream cheese is soft enough you can also do it by hand. Below is a quick recipe overview, but please scroll down to the recipe card for full instructions.

  • Make the filling: Mix together the cream cheese with one egg and garlic until smooth. Fold in the spinach and feta.
  • Slice the Puff Pastry: Roll both of the puff pastry sheets into squares. Slice each sheet into 9 squares. I like to use a pizza cutter to easily cut the puff pastry, but any sharp knife will work too!
  • Assemble: Place the puff pastry squares into greased muffin tins. Add the creamy spinach filling to each one and fold the edges to the center.
  • Brush: Brush some egg wash over the tops of each one. This helps the puff pastry to turn that beautiful golden brown.
  • Bake: Bake until golden, then let rest for a few minutes to cool and for the filling to set up. Then serve and watch how quickly they disappear!
A small serving of baked spinach feta puffs on a white plate.

Chef’s Tips & Variations

  • Squeeze the Spinach: It is *VERY* important to strain the excess water out of the spinach so your filling is not runny – no one likes soggy spinach puffs! I recommend using cheese cloth or thin tea towel (wrapped tightly and squeeze!) or a fine mesh sieve and a spoon to press the moisture out.
  • Add Bacon or Sausage: Toss some cooked and crumbled bacon or ground sausage in the filling. I often add crumbled breakfast sausage when I am serving them for brunch!
  • Parmesan: Craving even more cheese? Sprinkle in some (preferably freshly grated) parmesan or mozzarella cheese.
  • Bite Size: The recipe below uses a standard muffin size, but you can use a mini muffin tin instead if you prefer! They will bake quicker though, so start checking in around 12-15 minutes.
  • Empanadas: This feta spinach filling also makes amazing spinach empanadas! Just wrap it up in my homemade empanada dough recipe and bake or fry them!
A creamy spinach puff has been sliced in half to reveal a fully cooked center.

How To Prepare In Advance

Assemble and Refrigerate: (Bake within 24 hours)

  1. Prepare: Assemble, but do not brush with egg wash. Cover the whole muffin tin with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
  2. Bake: When ready to serve remove from the fridge and let puffs sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes. Then brush with egg wash and bake as directed.

Freeze Unbaked Spinach Puffs (Bake within 3 months)

  1. Prepare: Assemble, but do not brush with egg wash. I highly recommend lining your muffin tins with parchment paper or foil cupcake liners to easily remove them once frozen.
  2. Flash Freeze: Freeze the unbaked spinach puffs in the muffin tins for 1 to 2 hours until firm.
  3. Store Properly: Transfer the frozen puffs to a freezer-safe bag, separating layers with parchment paper. Freeze for up to 3 months.
  4. Bake: No need to thaw! Brush them with the egg wash and place them in a preheated 400°F oven, adding 2 to 3 extra minutes to the total bake time.

Buttery Garlicky Cheddar Biscuits

These Cheddar Biscuits are the ultimate comfort food — quick to make, incredibly cheesy, and packed with savory and buttery goodness. Made super easy with just a bowl and a spoon like my favorite beer bread recipe, my kids and I love baking these biscuits together. The hardest part? Waiting for them to bake as the mouthwatering smell fills the kitchen!

Ready in 30 minutes and made with simple ingredients, these biscuits are far better than any store-bought version. Whether you’re serving them alongside braised short ribs, dunking them in soup, or just enjoying one as a snack, they’re sure to become a household favorite. Fair warning, they disappear fast, so consider making a double batch!

Looking for more carb-y side dishes made easily without yeast? Try my Cheddar Jalapeño Cornbread, cheesy Jalapeño Beer Bread, or this classic sweet Corn Bread.

The ingredients for cheddar bay biscuit recipe in order from top to bottom: butter, cheddar cheese, whole milk, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, parsley, flour, sugar.

Key Ingredients

You likely already have everything you need in your pantry and fridge. Scroll down to the recipe card below for the full ingredient list and exact amounts!

  • Flour: It’s best to fluff and then spoon the flour into the measuring cup. If you dunk the cup right into the bag, you end up packing it, which results in too much flour creating overly dense biscuits.
  • Cheese: I like to use sharp cheddar cheese, but you can opt for milk or extra sharp. You can also swap out cheddar for gouda, pepper jack, or even a mix of mozzarella and parmesan for a unique twist.
  • Sugar: While these are a savory biscuit, a little sugar will balance the flavors. If you don’t have sugar on hand, you can use honey instead!
  • Milk: Whole milk is typically my go-to because it’s has a higher fat content and will make your biscuits more moist and tender. Feel free to use any milk you like best, you could even make these with half and half!
  • Butter: You’ll need some for the biscuit dough AND for the topping to make these biscuits supremely buttery! I wrote the recipe to use unsalted butter, but if you only have salted butter, just cut back a little on the added salt.
  • Garlic: We prefer to use garlic powder in the biscuits and in the butter topping so as not to overpower the cheddar flavor in these biscuits. However, for all my garlic lovers, you can absolutely use finely minced fresh garlic instead!
A bite has been taken out of a cheddar biscuit to reveal a fully cooked center.

Chef’s Tips & Variations

  • Use Freshly Grated Cheese: Pre-shredded cheese contains anti-caking agents that can affect the texture. Grate your own cheddar for the best melt and flavor.
  • Stuff with Cheese: Place a small cube of cheese inside each biscuit before baking for a melty surprise in the middle. Be warned it may ooze out a little, but while they may not be as pretty the taste is worth it!
  • Add Fresh Herbs: While I used dried parsley for ease, fresh parsley is great too! For more flavor options, try adding some diced fresh chives, thyme, or rosemary.
  • Make Mini Biscuits: Use a medium sized cookie scoop to scoop two tablespoons of dough to portion out smaller biscuits, perfect as an appetizer or snack!
  • Air Fryer: While I recommend using the oven as air fryers can vary and be unreliable for baked goods, you can air fry these cheddar biscuits. I recommend lining your air fryer with parchment paper and cooking the biscuits at 325°F for about 10 to 12 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Topping

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder or fresh finely minced garlic for a more potent flavor!
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425℉ and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk to combine all of the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, sugar and salt).
  • Using a wooden spoon, stir in the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the shredded cheese. Don’t over-mix the dough or your biscuits can come out too dense!
  • Use a 1/4 cup measuring cup, measure out 8 balls of the batter and drop them, rounded, onto your prepared baking sheet. Leaving room for spreading, at least 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for about 12 to 14 minutes, until slightly golden.
  • While the biscuits are baking, stir together all of the topping ingredients.
  • Once the biscuits are done in the oven, generously spread the topping over top all of the biscuits. Allow to cool slightly just so you don't burn your mouth and then dig in!

Notes

Store: Place cooled leftover biscuits in an airtight container and store at room temperature for up to 24 hours, or in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Freeze: These baked biscuits freeze beautifully! Place them in a single layer on a baking sheet, freeze for an hour, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. You can reheat them from frozen (adding a few extra minutes to the reheat time in the oven) or allow them to thaw overnight in the fridge. I like to brush them with more freshly made butter topping before serving!
Reheat: For that fresh baked feel and taste, warm the biscuits in the microwave for 10-second intervals until heated through. Or wrap them in foil and bake at 350°F for about 7 minutes.

How to Make Cheddar Biscuits — Step By Step

Impress your guests with homemade biscuits that taste like they came from a restaurant! Above is a quick recipe overview, but please scroll down to the recipe card for full instructions.

  • Make the Batter: Whisk together the dry ingredients, then stir in the wet ingredients with a wooden or silicone spoon. The dough will not come together easily with a whisk. Fold in the cheese. Don’t over-mix or you’ll end up with overly dense and tough biscuits!
  • Bake: Measure out 8 balls of batter and place them on a baking sheet. Make sure to leave room for spreading, then bake them until they are perfectly golden.
  • Add the Topping: Stir together all of the topping ingredients. I like doing this while the biscuits are in the oven. Brush the buttery goodness all over them as soon as they come out of the oven and enjoy!

What To Serve With Cheddar Biscuits?

These addictive garlic cheddar biscuits are such a versatile side dish! They are always a welcome addition alongside crispy bacon (Learn how to cook bacon in the oven for a hands-free, less mess method!) and a sausage breakfast casserole for brunch. But they are just as tasty served alongside a crockpot ham and green bean casserole for the holidays. We make them most often to upgrade our weeknight dinners, serving them with dishes like our favorite baked chicken recipe or these crispy brown sugar air fryer chicken legs.

This rich and creamy banana pudding ice cream is loaded with fresh bananas, vanilla wafers and cinnamon in each bite! This no-churn banana ice cream recipe comes together in minutes, making it every banana-lover’s go-to dessert.

A container of creamy banana pudding with vanilla wafers and sliced banana on top with a scoop of ice cream missing and an ice cream scoop on the side.

Why You’ll Love This Banana Pudding Ice Cream

As a banana pudding obsessed family, it’s no surprise that I have been busy working on perfecting our banana pudding ice cream recipe! Here’s why I know you will love it too:

  • No-Churn: You don’t need an ice cream maker for this recipe! It’s a super easy, beginner friendly ice cream recipe that anyone can make.
  • Smooth and Creamy: Milk, heavy cream, and sweetened condensed milk help make this homemade ice cream ultra creamy and rich!
  • Better than Store-Bought: With real whole banana slices and lots of vanilla wafer cookies, there’s no way store bought could taste as good as this!
  • Make-Ahead Dessert: Since you have to make this ice cream ahead to allow it to freeze, it’s a great dessert to serve at a summer cookout.

If you love banana pudding themed desserts, I have a few you may want to try out! Like my easy banana pudding bars, layered banana pudding cake and this decadent banana pudding cheesecake.

Ingredients for banana ice cream recipe arranged in bowls. From top to bottom: nilla wafers, whole milk, bananas, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, instant banana pudding mix, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.

What You’ll Need

To keep the flavor as true as possible, we use dry, store-bought instant banana pudding. It adds the perfect flavor to this banana ice cream recipe! Scroll down to the recipe card for exact amounts.

  • Heavy Cream: There is no substitute for this, you need full fat cream to make the base!
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: I tested this ice cream a few different ways… Sweetened condensed milk helps sweeten the ice cream base while also helping with the creamy texture. I do not recommend swapping this for any other milk products!
  • Milk: Whole milk is best for the creamiest texture, half and half can also be used instead.
  • Sugar: I used granulated sugar, but you could use light brown sugar instead.
  • Banana Pudding: You are looking for a box of store-bought instant dry banana pudding. Do not prepare the pudding, add the powder directly to the milk mixture.
  • Cinnamon: You can also use ground nutmeg, but I like the classic flavor of cinnamon in this recipe.
  • Bananas: They need to be ripe, but not overly soft, ripe bananas. Slice them thin, as frozen bananas get hard.
  • Vanilla Wafers: Crushed into bite size pieces, or use the mini version.

How To Make Banana Pudding Ice Cream

The key to any no-churn ice cream recipe is whipping the heavy cream until light and fluffy. You can do this by hand, but I highly recommend using a hand mixer or stand mixer to save your arm! Scroll to the recipe card at bottom of the post for full detailed instructions.

  • Beat the Cream: Whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract with a stand-mixer until stiff peaks form.
  • Sweeten: Whisk the condensed milk, milk, and sugar in a separate bowl until smooth. Stir it into the whipped cream.
  • Add the Fillings: Add the pudding and cinnamon into the whipped cream mixture. Fold in the sliced bananas and wafer cookies.
  • Chill: Transfer the mixture into a container. Add more bananas and wafers on top. Cover it and freeze until firm.
  • Serve: Remove from the freezer and serve when ready. Enjoy!

Chef’s Tips & Variations

  • Swap the Cookies: Swap the wafers for sugar cookies, spice cookies, graham crackers, or any similar wafer cookie you would prefer!
  • Prevent Crystallization: Place a sheet of plastic wrap over the container and press it on top of the ice cream before adding the lid. This will prevent ice crystals from forming on top.
  • More Add-Ins: Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or chopped macadamias into the mixture before freezing for even more flavor and texture.
  • Go for Stainless Steel: Avoid plastic bowls for beating the heavy cream in. It won’t whip well. Stick to stainless steel bowls, or a glass bowl, for best results.
  • Peanut Butter: Stir in 1/2 a cup of peanut butter, or swirl it in to the ice cream before freezing, for peanut butter banana ice cream!

Serving Suggestions

Aside from whipped cream and a salted caramel sauce drizzle, don’t forget to pair this banana pudding ice cream with your favorite desserts. I also love it served with a warm slice of banana bundt cake or these vanilla waffle cookies!

How To Store Banana Ice Cream

Store your banana ice cream in a freezer-friendly container for up to just 2 weeks. This is because homemade ice cream doesn’t last as long as commercial ice cream, but don’t worry… It’s so good, it won’t last that long! While I used a decorative metal container for photos, at home I use these reusable ice cream containers with lids.

Why I Love this Breakfast Casserole with Ham

Guys, there is NOTHING better than having breakfast ready to go first thing in the morning! I’m a firm believer in planning ahead with most things – especially when it buys me an extra half hour of rest in the morning. Whether it’s a Saturday morning with the kids or Christmas morning with extended family, this ham breakfast casserole is always a huge hit. It’s savory, filling as can be, and takes the stress out of feeding a small army before 9 a.m. Check out why I love it so much:

  • Amazing Flavor: This ham breakfast casserole is packed with buttery croissants, warm cream cheese, lots of ham and cheddar cheese. Topped with buttery crushed cornflakes, it has amazing crunchy and buttery crust!
  • Super Easy: Whisk together the eggs and then layer everything together in a baking dish. Let the casserole rest overnight and then bake, couldn’t get any simpler.
  • Make Ahead: You do all of the prep the night before, then pop it into the oven the next morning for an amazing hot breakfast!
  • Customizable: Feel free to add in sautéed or raw onions, bell peppers, breakfast sausage, bacon, or use up your leftover crockpot ham!

Love simple brunch dishes with eggs? Be sure to try my easy breakfast enchiladas, easy tortilla Española (potato omelette) or delicious overnight bacon and sausage breakfast casserole.

Ingredients for overnight breakfast casserole recipe arranged on a countertop. From top to bottom: croissants, pepper, salt, onion powder, cayenne pepper, cream cheese, butter, cheddar cheese, half and half, cornflakes, eggs and sliced ham.

Key Ingredients

Gather all your ingredients before getting started, once we get started, the assembly goes fast! Below you will find helpful notes for key ingredients used to make overnight breakfast casserole. Scroll down to the recipe card for the full ingredient list and exact amounts!

  • Croissants: You’ll need 6 or 7 cut in half lengthwise. You can either buy a can of croissant dough and bake them or buy them already to go from the bakery – either option works well.
  • Ham: Choose 12 to 14 slices of deli ham or use up your leftover holiday ham. This is one of my favorite ways to use up all of that Christmas ham!
  • Cheese: I used shredded cheddar cheese and cream cheese, cut into 1″ cubes. When it comes to cheddar cheese, it always tastes best when shredded right off the block.
  • Half and Half: You can use heavy cream instead if that’s what you have on hand.
  • Cornflakes: You will need regular plain cornflakes, not the sweetened frosted cornflakes.
  • Parsley: Optional garnish, sliced green onions work well too!

How to Make Ham Breakfast Casserole

Assembling this ham breakfast casserole recipe will take you almost no time at all. Let it rest overnight and then all you have to do is bake it the next morning. Easy peasy! Below is a quick overview, but please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for full instructions.

  • First Set of Layers: Place one layer of croissants flat side down onto the bottom of the 9×13 baking dish. Place two layers of ham over the croissants, followed by 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Evenly place the cream cheese cubes on top.
  • Mix Together Sauce: Whisk together eggs, half and half, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Pour the egg mixture over other ingredients.
  • Second Set of Layers: Top with the additional croissants, flat side up. Sprinkle on remaining ½ cheese. Sprinkle on crushed cornflakes and pour butter evenly over cornflakes.
  • Soak Overnight: Cover casserole with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  • Bake the Casserole: Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, until golden brown and no longer jiggly in the middle. If the casserole is browning too quickly, cover with aluminum foil.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with chopped parsley on top, if desired.

Chef’s Tips & Variations

  • Other Types of Cheese: Use your favorite melting cheese, such as mozzarella, colby jack, Monterey Jack, smoked gouda or pepper jack will all work well.
  • Not A Ham Fan? You can use any sliced, cooked meat you would enjoy! Deli sliced turkey or chicken also work well.
  • Croissants: Stale older croissants work perfect in a breakfast casserole like this. Don’t use super soft, fresh croissants or canned crescent rolls. The texture will not work well.
  • In a Rush: Forgot to assemble your casserole the night before? You can let it soak in the fridge for 2 hours instead of overnight. Any less and the croissants might not soak up all the eggs and half and half in time.
  • Fridge to Oven: Be careful moving the casserole directly from the fridge to a hot oven if using a glass casserole dish as it can break. Instead, let the casserole warm on the counter for 30 minutes before baking.

What to Serve with Breakfast Casserole with Ham

Though this breakfast casserole with ham is totally filling and needs no sides, brunch is often a time to enjoy many recipes!

Creamy crockpot corn casserole is an easy, set-and-forget crockpot side dish to save you from the holiday craze! Topped with sliced green onions, this sweet and savory casserole is like having cornbread and pudding in a single bite.

A bowl of sweet and savory crockpot corn casserole topped with sliced green onions with a spoon, salt and pepper on the side.

Why I Love This Slow Cooker Corn Casserole

I was born and raised in Texas, which means I have a very deep love for all things Southern in my kitchen! This corn pudding recipe is a must-make on just about every major holiday for my family. It’s one of those traditional sides that Christmas and Thanksgiving just wouldn’t be complete without. And with that being said… I’ve been known to plug in the Crockpot for this corn casserole recipe on regular weeknights as well! Here’s what I really love about this easy recipe:

  • Always a Hit: From a bbq to the holidays, crockpot corn casserole is always a crowd favorite. It is both sweet and savory, making it perfect alongside just about any main dish.
  • Beginner-Friendly: You don’t need any experience to ace this easy casserole. Just mix everything together, set the crockpot and forget it until you’re ready to serve!
  • Creamy: Creamed corn, butter, sour cream, cheddar cheese and cream cheese combine to create an ultra rich corn casserole.
  • Save Oven Space: This corn casserole crockpot recipe will save you oven space and travels easily in the slow cooker.

What Is Corn Casserole?

Corn casserole, also commonly called corn pudding, is a traditional Southern side dish. It’s made with different kinds of corn: canned corn kernels, creamed corn and cornbread mix. Butter, milk, sour cream, cheese and eggs are added for creamy richness. Everything is blended and cooked until crisp around the edges, with a soft and creamy pudding-like center.

Ingredients arranged in bowls for crockpot corn pudding recipe. From top to bottom: eggs, butter, corn muffin mix, sour cream, milk, cream cheese, creamed corn, corn kernels, shredded cheddar cheese, granulated sugar, salt, pepper and green onions.

Key Ingredients

Sliced fresh green onions add texture and a savory flavor among all the sweet creaminess. Below you will find helpful notes for key ingredients used to make corn pudding in the Crockpot. Scroll down to the recipe card for the full ingredient list and exact amounts!

  • Sweet Corn: Use canned, frozen or fresh kernel corn.
  • Creamed Corn: This is the key ingredient to get the sweet and creamy texture! Don’t swap it for anything else.
  • Butter: Reduce the added salt by 1/4 teaspoon if you use salted butter.
  • Sour Cream: Don’t use Greek yogurt for this, you need the fat from sour cream.
  • Cheese: Cheddar is my favorite, but any shredded cheese will work. If you have the time to freshly shred it right off the block, even better.
  • Milk: Whole milk is best. 2% will work too.
  • Cornbread Mix: Jiffy cornbread mix is my favorite, but use whichever one you want. The box may also say corn muffin mix instead of cornbread mix.
  • Granulated Sugar: Light brown sugar is a great swap.
  • Cream Cheese: Full-fat will create the best creamy texture.

How to Make Slow Cooker Corn Casserole

Set the crockpot to cook on HIGH or LOW depending on how much time you have before serving. Below is a quick overview, but please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for full instructions.

  • Make the Batter: Stir to combine all ingredients in a bowl, except for the cream cheese.
  • Spread and Top: Transfer batter to a greased crockpot. Spread into an even layer and add the cubed cream cheese on top.
  • Cook and Stir: Cover and cook until golden brown and the center is set. Stir the casserole a couple of times in the first hour of cooking.
  • Garnish and Serve: Top with green onions and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Chef’s Tips & Variations

  • Don’t Over-Mix: Only stir the batter until just-combined. Over-mixing can lead to a rubbery casserole.
  • Southwestern Twist: Add a 4 oz can of drained diced green chilis for tangy heat. For more heat, you can use a diced jalapeño.
  • Swap the Cheese: Shredded cheddar cheese is the traditional choice. However, you can also use shredded mozzarella, Colby Jack or even pepper jack cheese.
  • Hold the Sugar: You can skip the added sugar for a slightly less sweet, more savory corn pudding.
  • Add Bacon: Crumble some cooked bacon and mix it into the pudding for added smokey goodness.

What to Serve with Corn Pudding

Often served for the holidays or summer bbq, this crockpot corn casserole pairs well with just about anything! Here are a few tasty ideas:

This creamy apple snickers salad with crunchy apples and silky vanilla pudding will be your go-to potluck recipe. Served as a dessert or sweet side, this salad is packed with fluffy marshmallows and caramel sauce for an irresistibly decadent bite!

Sweet, creamy and chilled Caramel Apple Snickers Salad in a serving bowl with caramel sauce drizzled on top and a sprinkling of chopped snickers bars.

Why I Love This Apple Snickers Salad Recipe

I mean… what’s not to love? For starters, I’m a pretty huge fan of salads that aren’t really salads. They’re so much fun! This tart and sweet combo of Snickers bars and apples all held together in a creamy cheesecake-like “dressing” is way more exciting than your standard leafy greens. The last time I made this salad was with my kids leftover Halloween candy (but don’t tell them that) and I’ve been dreaming of it ever since! Check out what makes this apple Snickers salad such a hit:

  • Sweet and Tart: Green apples, tangy cream cheese, creamy pudding and caramel sauce give this recipe its sweet-and-tart flavor profile.
  • Refreshing: This sweet caramel apple salad is served chilled, making it the perfect summer dessert or sweet side dish.
  • Quick and Easy: You only need 15 minutes of hands-on effort, the rest is chilling time.
  • Convenient: Pudding mix and Cool Whip help you cut corners without sacrificing flavor.
  • Perfect for a Potluck: This dessert salad pairs with just about everything, making it perfect for a potluck. It is always one of the first dishes to go!

Ingredients for Snickers salad recipe arranged on a counter top. From top to bottom: milk, cream cheese, instant vanilla pudding, snickers, apples, caramel, marshmallows and whipped topping.

Key Ingredients

Creamy instant pudding and Cool Whip add sweetness but also make this snickers and apple salad super convenient. Scroll down to the recipe card for full ingredient list and exact amounts!

  • Milk: Use whole milk for the creamiest results.
  • Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix: For a cheesecake twist, use instant cheesecake pudding!
  • Cream Cheese: Full-fat cream cheese adds more richness, but low-fat can be used instead.
  • Cool Whip: Go for homemade whipped cream if you prefer.
  • Apples: Tart Granny Smith apples are my personal favorite, but any apples will work.
  • Marshmallows: Mini marshmallows are best.
  • Snickers: Or any similar chocolate candy bar, cut into bite sized pieces.
  • Caramel Sauce: Try my salted caramel sauce!

How to Make Snickers Apple Salad

Stir, chill and serve… This snickers salad recipe couldn’t get any easier! Below is a quick recipe overview, but please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for full instructions.

  • Make the cream cheese mixture: Whisk together the milk and pudding until smooth. Beat in the cream cheese. Gently fold in the whipped topping.
  • Mix: Fold in the chopped apples and marshmallows into the pudding mixture. (Do not add the snickers yet!)
  • Chill: Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes, or until chilled.
  • Serve: When ready to serve, stir in the Snickers and drizzle caramel sauce on top.

Chef’s Tips & Variations

  • Prevent Brown Apples: Squeeze 1/2 lemon juice and toss the apples in the juice to prevent them from browning.
  • Go Mini: Save prep time by using mini Snickers instead of regular full-sized ones. You don’t even have to slice them.
  • Don’t Over-Mix: Gently stir everything together until just combined. Over-mixing causes the Cool Whip to deflate and become runny.
  • Hard Snickers: The candy bars can get really hard when refrigerated because of the caramel nougat center. To prevent this, stir them in right before serving.
  • More Add-Ins: Add 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or shredded coconut for extra texture.

Why You’ll Love This Orange Glazed Ham Recipe

This recipe is guaranteed to be one of the easiest on your holiday list. Yes, really! The prep usually only takes me about 20 minutes or so, then the oven does all the heavy lifting. On crazy busy days like Christmas Eve, you need all the time you can get! While your orange glazed ham is baking in the oven for about 2.5 hours (and making the whole house smell divine in the process), you can focus on all of your sides and desserts. Here’s why this ham has become a Christmas tradition in my home:

  • Perfect Holiday Dish: There’s nothing quite like a sticky, sweet holiday ham, to bring comforting elegance to your holiday meal.
  • Sweet and Savory: The recipe uses classic ingredients such as brown sugar and Dijon mustard, but adds a layer of complexity with the addition of orange marmalade, fresh herbs, garlic, and real orange slices. Its stunning appearance and magnificent flavor create the perfect ham recipe.
  • Easy and Impressive: An easy, foolproof showstopper, this easy tutorial for how to bake a ham requires minimal prep time. Once it comes out of the oven, your guests will ooh and ahh!
  • Serves A Crowd: This ham recipe generously glazes a 10 pounder, but the time can be adjusted for a larger ham. (See Tips & Variations below.)

Need to save space in your oven? Learn how to cook a spiral ham in the crockpot (crockpot ham) or try this smaller air fryer ham!

Orange glaze ham recipe ingredients arranged in bowls. From top to bottom: honey, orange marmalade, Dijon Mustard, orange zest, brown sugar, orange juice, rosemary, garlic and a spiral ham.

Key Ingredients

Below you will find helpful notes for key ingredients used to make this recipe for glazed ham. Scroll down to the recipe card below for the full ingredient list and exact amounts!

  • Spiral-Sliced Ham: This recipe makes one bone-in ham, about 10 pounds in weight. Different sizes of ham will require a different cooking process, so it’s important to try to get your hands on a 10 pound one.
  • Orange: Choose a large, fresh navel orange. No need to peel!
  • Garlic: Use a few large garlic cloves pulled from the bulb.
  • Rosemary: Fresh sprigs of rosemary perfectly accent the ham, however thyme can be used for a milder flavor.
  • Marmalade: Orange marmalade gives the glaze its unique flavor. Usually sold on the jam/jelly aisle.
  • Mustard: Dijon works or whole grain mustard best, but yellow mustard or spicy mustard may be substituted.
  • Honey and Brown Sugar: The sweetness balances all the savory flavors. You can use all honey, or all brown sugar, if preferred. I find a mix of both to be the best!
  • Orange: You’ll use both the orange zest and orange juice from one orange.

How to Cook a Spiral Ham

Learning how to cook a spiral ham may seem overwhelming, but don’t stress – it is super easy! Below is a quick recipe overview, but please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for full instructions and to watch the step-by-step video.

  • Prep: Preheat oven to 325°F. Tuck slices of orange, garlic, and sprigs of rosemary in between the slices of ham. Line a roasting pan with foil and place a roasting rack on top. Lay ham on rack, cut side down.
  • Bake: Place roasting pan into preheated oven. Bake for an hour and 45 minutes.
  • Prepare Glaze: Just before ham finishes baking, whisk together the glaze ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, until sugar dissolves.
  • Glaze Ham: Uncover ham and glaze generously. Return to oven and bake uncovered for an additional 45 minutes to set the glaze.
  • Rest: Remove and cover the baked, glazed ham loosely with foil. Let ham rest in pan for 15 minutes.
  • Enjoy! Transfer to a serving platter. Slice around the bone with a sharp knife and serve!
A juicy baked ham stuffed with garlic, rosemary and orange slices and brushed with a garlic orange ham glaze.

Chefs’s Tips & Variations

  • Foil: Covering the ham with foil for the first half of baking time keeps it moist. Uncovering for the last part allows the glaze to set and sugars to caramelize, creating a deeper flavor and added texture.
  • Larger Ham: A fully cooked ham should be warmed until the internal temperature reaches 140°F as measured by a meat thermometer. It takes about 20 minutes per pound at 325°F. For a larger ham, add time accordingly.
  • Type Of Ham: Look for a spiral cut ham labeled smoked or cured. These are fully cooked and easily located in local grocery stores around the holidays. Stay away from country or black forest hams as they require a different preparation and cook time.
  • Apples: For a fun fall version, try stuffing your ham with thinly sliced apples instead of oranges.
  • Glaze Packet: Discard the premade glaze pack or save to use on a weeknight pork dish. The glaze in this ham recipe is far superior!
  • Ham Bone: Reserve the ham bone and leftover meat to make rosemary ham and bean soup or a big pot of charro beans!

What to Serve with Glazed Ham

Now that you know how to cook a spiral ham to juicy perfection, you just need a few of your favorite sides to round out the meal. Try these family favorites to complete your festive holiday dinner:

Ingredients

For the Ham

  • 10 lb spiral sliced fully cooked ham bone-in
  • 1 orange sliced thinly
  • 5 large garlic gloves peeled and thinly sliced
  • 5 sprigs of fresh rosemary cut into 1 inch pieces

For the Glaze

  • 6 oz orange marmalade
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • zest and juice of 1 large orange

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  • In between the slices of ham, insert the thinly sliced orange, thinly sliced garlic and sprigs of rosemary. Line a large roasting pan with foil. Place a roasting rack on top of the foil. Carefully place ham cut side down on the rack and cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour 45 minutes.
  • When the ham is almost done baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the orange marmalade, mustard, honey, brown sugar, orange juice and zest. Whisk on medium-low heat, until sugar is melted, and the glaze barely starts simmering.
  • Uncover the ham and spoon or brush it with the glaze. Bake for another 45 minutes. (If desired, reserve 1⁄2 cup of the glaze and brush the ham one more time during these last 45 minutes.)
  • When done baking, cover the ham loosely with foil and let rest for 15 minutes.
  • For serving use two wide spatulas to transfer to a serving platter. To carve, start slicing around the bone with a thin carving knife and it will easily fall apart. Enjoy!

Notes

Store: Leftover ham can be covered with foil, or placed in an airtight container, and stored in your fridge for up to 5 days.
Reheat: Reheat slices of ham in the microwave, a skillet, or the oven.
Freeze: Take the ham off of the bone, and pack it into freezer bags. Mark with the date, and store in your freezer for 1 to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Larger Ham: A fully cooked ham should be warmed until the internal temperature reaches 140°F as measured by a meat thermometer. It takes about 20 minutes per pound at 325°F. For a larger ham, add time accordingly.
Type Of Ham: Look for a spiral cut ham labeled smoked or cured. These are fully cooked and easily located in local grocery stores around the holidays. Stay away from country or black forest hams as they require a different preparation and cook time.

Who could resist buttery, golden, sweet Hawaiian rolls with a hint of pineapple flavor? These yeast rolls are a soft and fluffy addition for everything from backyard barbecues to holiday dinners.

A white baking dish full of Hawaiian dinner rolls. One soft and sweet yeast roll is sitting on top of the rest.

Why You’ll Love This Hawaiian Rolls Recipe

Soft and buttery with just the right amount of sweetness, these Hawaiian sweet rolls are simply irresistible!

  • Flavor: Hawaiian Rolls are special as they are made with pineapple juice instead of water. The pineapple juice plus a little bit of sugar gives these yeast rolls their distinctive taste!
  • So Soft: These sweet yeast rolls are oh so soft and tender. Served warm out of the oven they will practically melt in your mouth.
  • Crowd Favorite: Everyone loves these famous Hawaiian dinner rolls, but just wait until your guests try your homemade version. They are so good, you won’t have leftovers!

If you love homemade rolls, try my Texas Roadhouse rolls or my soft dinner rolls recipe. No time for rising? Try a batch of buttery beer bread instead!

Hawaiian roll recipe ingredients arranged in bowls, from top to bottom: eggs, salt, bread flour, yeast, brown sugar, granulated sugar, pineapple juice, all purpose flour and butter.

The Ingredients You’ll Need

So just what is in a soft and fluffy Hawaiian roll? Basic baking ingredients, plus plenty of sweet pineapple juice. Scroll down to the recipe card for exact amounts.

  • Flour: You will need a combination of all-purpose flour and bread flour to achieve the perfect soft and tender texture.
  • Sugar: You can use just one type of sugar, but using both granulated and brown sugar is best.
  • Yeast: You’ll use active yeast. (Check tips section below for instant yeast.)
  • Salt
  • Pineapple Juice: Either canned or fresh pineapple juice will work.
  • Eggs: A couple of large, whole eggs enrich the dough and add structure.
  • Vanilla: Vanilla extract adds a magical depth and complexity.
  • Butter: I prefer salted butter, at room temperature. If using unsalted butter, add an additional 1/8 teaspoon salt.

How to Make Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

This recipe for Hawaiian rolls looks a little different than the usual yeast bread recipe. Below you will find a quick overview. Scroll to the recipe card at bottom of the post for full detailed instructions.

  • Yeast: Combine warm pineapple juice, brown sugar and granulated sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and let rest for about 5 minutes. Add melted butter and eggs and stir to combine.
  • Dough: Place all-purpose flour into the bowl of a stand mixer with dough hook attached. Add the wet ingredients and mix until dough comes together. Add 1/2 cup of bread flour, mixing until the dough pulls away from the sides. Knead on low for 5 minutes.
  • Rise: Add dough to a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a clean cloth. Place in a warm, draft-free spot. Let the dough rise until it has doubled in size.
  • Form: Place dough on a lightly floured counter. Cut into 15 equal-sized pieces and then tuck the corners forming a rough ball. Gently place your hand over the dough and using a circular motion, roll until you have a tight round ball.
  • Rise: Grease a baking dish with butter. Add rolls and cover with plastic wrap or a clean cloth. Let rise until rolls have doubled in size.
  • Egg Wash: Preheat oven to 375°F. Whisk to combine egg and water, then brush the tops of the rolls.
  • Bake: Bake for 20 minutes, rotating the pan once halfway through, until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with melted butter. Let rest for 10 minutes and serve!

Chef's Tips and Tricks

Every yeast recipe has its quirks, and these little Hawaiian sweet breads are no exception. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Active vs Instant Yeast: Instant yeast does not need to be bloomed. Active yeast needs to be “activated” by blooming it (adding it to a warm liquid). It will bubble and grow in the warm liquid making it cloudy. If nothing happens after 10 minutes, the yeast is old and will not work.
  • Add Flour: Depending on the moisture in the air, you may need to add a little more flour to the dough. Add additional flour one tablespoon at a time, until the dough is no longer sticky, but still a little tacky to the touch.
  • Rising Time: The rising times for the dough can vary. Warmer areas will rise the bread faster than cooler areas. You do not want the temperature to be too warm, as this will cause a quick rise and the dough can collapse. I use the microwave or the oven with the light on.

What to Serve with Hawaiian Rolls?

These slightly sweet, soft dinner rolls are great with almost any meal. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Ham: If you’re making ham (like this juicy Crockpot Ham, perhaps?) for a holiday meal, try serving these soft rolls alongside it. Plus, you can use both the ham and the rolls to make ham sliders.
  • Chicken: Hawaiian rolls are the perfect side for dipping into the sweet-and-tangy sauce with baked honey mustard chicken.
  • Turkey: Serve these rolls alongside your perfect Thanksgiving turkey for an epic holiday meal! Turkey sliders with these sweet rolls are also a great idea.

How To Store Hawaiian Dinner Rolls

These Hawaiian bread rolls taste best when eaten fresh and warm. However you can save and enjoy them within a couple of days. Here’s your options:

  • Store: Place cooled rolls in an airtight container and store on the counter for up to 4 days. No need to refrigerate.
  • Reheat: For that fresh baked taste/feel, reheat in a 350°F oven until warmed through. Or, microwave for a few seconds at a time until warm.
  • Freeze: Place the cooled rolls in a freezer bag or airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge, them warm as desired.

Ingredients

Rolls

  • ¾ cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup salted butter melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour plus more for dusting
  • ½ cup bread flour

Egg Wash:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted for brushing

Instructions

Dough

  • Heat pineapple juice to 105-110°F and add to a small bowl. Add granulated and brown sugar and stir. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes, until the yeast blooms (it will be bubbly and cloudy). If there is no activity, your yeast is most likely old and will not work.
  • While yeast is blooming, melt the butter and let it cool to below 110°F (you can speed the cooling along by stirring the butter). Add eggs and melted butter to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  • Add 3 cups all-purpose flour to the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Add in your wet ingredients and mix on low till dough comes together.
  • Once all the flour is incorporated, add 1/2 cup of bread flour and continue mixing till the dough pulls away from the sides. Mix for another 5 minutes at low speed. The dough will be firm and tacky. If sticky, add in more bread flour 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Dust the counter with a little bread flour. Knead the dough ball for about 3 minutes and shape it into a nice round ball.
  • Add dough to a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a clean cloth. Place in a warm, draft-free spot and let the dough rise until it has doubled in size. Approximately 1 to 2 hours. Rise time will vary based on how cool or warm it is.

Form Rolls

  • Turn the dough out onto a very lightly floured counter. Fold dough in half lengthwise a couple of times until you form a long skinny rectangle. Using a bench scrapper or sharp knife, cut into 15 equal-sized pieces (they don’t have to be exact).
  • Working with one piece at a time, flatten down and tuck corners under forming a rough ball. Gently place your hand over the roll and using a circular motion, roll till you have a tight round roll.
  • Grease a 9×13 baking dish lightly with butter. Add rolls to the baking dish and cover with plastic wrap or a clean cloth. Let rise until rolls have doubled in size. This should be about an hour, depending on how warm it is.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Prepare egg wash by whisking to combine the egg and water. Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash with a pastry brush.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until rolls are golden brown on top (and have reached an internal temperature of about 190°F). Rotate the pan once halfway through baking.
  • Remove from oven and brush lightly with melted butter. Let rest for 10 minutes and serve warm!

Notes

Store: Place cooled rolls in an airtight container and store on the counter for up to 4 days. No need to refrigerate.
Reheat: For that fresh baked taste/feel, reheat in a 350°F oven until warmed through. Or, microwave for a few seconds at a time until warm.
