Hi Rianna! Hmm, yes it is definitely only 1/3 cup flour, the oats are what replaces most of the flour to give a lot of chewy oatmeal texture to the cookies. The dough is a moist sticky dough, but should hold up enough to be rolled in the sugar. If everything was measured correctly and you used old-fashioned oats, I’m really not sure why it would have been such a strange texture. I’m so sorry I’m not more help and hate that they didn’t turn out perfectly for you, they are one of my favorite cookie recipes.

I’m curious if a 1/3 cup of flour is the correct amount for this recipe? Reason being, my cookie dough was so moist. It didn’t even hold together using the cookie scoop. I ended up adding more flour. I measured each ingredient exactly and followed the direction step by step. Any suggestions on what I may have done wrong?

16 cookies! The recipe yield is always listed right above the recipe name in the recipe card. 🙂

I made these today and wow I and the fam really have enjoyed them. I love the fact that they look just as perfect and honestly chewy like the recipe claims. Sadly, that can be a rarity these days. I did roll half of the cookies in cinnamon sugar and the other half in plain. So, thank you for a great recipe, I and my family will continue to enjoy it/them.
