I have 4 teens and they all loved it!! (That rarely happens.) I made the double batch. It was a little bland at first but once the flavors mingled and it thickened, I was pleased with the result. It was quick enough to make and all of the incredients were already in my pantry/freezer/fridge.

This! So if you live in Texas. You can get frozen ground turkey for $2 a pound. Obviously you will need to defrost it. But it still works out and it’s extremely affordable.

Hi Erin! Sure you could try it out with orzo, I’d love to know how it turns out if you do. Orzo usually cooks in about 8 to 10 minutes, so I’d expect it to cook in the same amount of time.

I have made this several times and we love it! It is delicious! Do you know if I would be able to use orzo instead of shells, and how long I should cook that for?

This is absolutely delicious! This is definitely getting added to our dinner rotations. We’re gluten free so I used gluten free elbow pasta, pre cooked and added at the end right before the meat is added back in. We followed your direction to add a little cornstarch instead of flour. Turned out perfect! The only change we made was to add half a can of tomato paste. Just cause we like that extra tomato kick. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe 😊

Great idea! Would make again but with more chicken broth and only 1 cup of cheese.

There is something about Hamburger Helper that my husband is allergic to, some ingredient. No matter which kind I buy, but I loved the cheesy Italian pasta and miss having it. I can’t wait to try this!
